This is a modern holiday villa and the owners have decorated it in very pretty contemporary style using pastel colours and attractive stencilling. The house is situated on the edge of the little town of Pénestin about 1km from the nearest beach. Penestin is on the Atlantic Coast between Vannes and La Baule. It is a pleasant unspoilt little town with some nice beaches and wonderful coastal paths. The house has a large south facing garden, mostly grass, and a terrace with a barbecue and garden furniture for outdoor meals. There is parking for two cars within the property. We don’t think our photos do the house justice as from the outside it looks small, but inside it really feels quite spacious. |

Accommodation
There is an open plan living room with comfortable seating, a television, CD and DVD player, dining area and French windows opening to the back garden. There is a very attractive and well-equipped kitchen area which also opens to the garden. The kitchen is well equipped with 4-ring hob and oven, microwave oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and electric kettle. There is a downstairs shower room and separate WC. There are four bedrooms: bedroom one is on the ground floor and has a double bed, 140cm. Upstairs, there is another bedroom with twin beds which may be pushed together, and there are two more bedrooms, one with a wide single bed, 120cm, and another with a double bed, 140cm, and a cot. There is a bathroom with bath and shower and a separate WC. The house has electric heating. There are indoor and outdoor games for children, and a sand pit.

Situation
The property is situated about 1km from the town which has good local facilities: there are two supermarkets, a boulangerie and a few bars and restaurants with the emphasis on seafood. If not dining out you can always take some home from the poissonnerie. In the 19th century gold was discovered at Penestin and one of the local beaches is called la Plage de la Mine d’Or. There are several beaches within 1 - 2km of the house, and the estuary of the River Vilaine is about 250m. Mussels are cultivated in the estuary and the old lighthouse has been converted into a mussel museum. There is much to visit in this area without driving far: the walled town of Guérande, 25km, the sophisticated town of La Baule, 35km, La Grande Brière (wildlife reserve), the salt marshes, fishing villages such as Piriac sur Mer.
Linen and terms
Linen is available, EUR 12 per person for bed linen and towels. Refundable damage deposit EUR 300 cash. Electricity is extra (read on meter). Final cleaning charge (compulsory) EUR 50. Sorry no pets.
