The house is about 3k from Saint Paul de Vence, the medieval village made famous by artists such as Bonnard and Picasso, and home to the Maeght modern art museum. Saint Paul has a good selection of shops and restaurants including the world famous (and expensive!) Colombe d’Or. Tennis 2k and golf course 15k. The old part of Cagnes-sur-Mer called Haut-de-Cagnes, about 3k, is very attractive and also has artistic connections; Renoir’s house, Les Collettes, is now a museum with several of his paintings and works of his friends. The property is also well placed for exploring the ‘arrière pays’ of Nice with its ancient perched villages such as Biot, Tourettes sur Loup and Gourdon. The nearest beach is at Cagnes-sur-Mer (pebbly), about 6k, and some of the best sandy beaches are at Antibes about 15k. Nice airport is about 20 mins drive.
"The owners were terrific & so were their dogs! The 'Lupi's reckoned the dogs would pine for us for a few days! The house is great-plenty of room and the Terrace used constantly. The area is lovely-quiet and plenty of fruit trees, and pleasant walking. We went to restaurants in Vence, Cagnes and by the beaches. All good. Wish we were still there! We stayed on for an extra 5 days and the Lupi's entertained us with drinks and local dishes-what a wonderful evening!"

"We wanted you to know that we had a very lovely time at the house at Saint Paul de Vence. The owners are very sweet and made us very welcome. We also made very good friends with their dogs Tango and Nina. The evening before we came home they prepared delicious food and drinks for us (all home-made, even the delicious liqueur) and a wonderful time was had by all."

"We were able to stay a couple of extra days, it was so nice at this house. 11/10 for the owners who were very nice; attentive and helpful in suggesting things to do and see. Lovely large garden. The dogs are very friendly and the children were very happy to play with them. Valbonne is a cute little village with shops and typical Proven‡ale places. The whole family was very much ?in harmony? with Provence."

"We had a wonderful holiday - the owners were very kind and offered us many samples of Ni‡ois specialities. The house and surroundings were very comfortable and very cool. The house itself was very spacious and well equipped. We became very fond of their little dogs who visited us every day. I hope we can return."

"The owners were very friendly and helpful - they gave us a warm welcome. We were very pleased with St Paul de Vence; it was away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to reach nearby locations. The house was very peaceful."

"The owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. Despite the language difficulty we got on very well. The dog was a great friend and we were sorry to leave him (and I am not usually a dog lover). The house and garden were much more than we expected and the villages in the surrounding area were very interesting."

"I am wondering if you would be able to relay a message to Monsieur et Madame Lupi for us. We thanked them for their wonderful hospitality but could not convey enough how exceptionally welcome they made us and what a wonderful week we spent there. They are a lovely couple and were so generous in providing us with produce from their garden for which were so surprised and delighted , but our french was not quite up to saying how we felt. "

"We have had the most enjoyable week staying at La Bastide Rouge in St Paul de Vence. Mr and Mrs Lupi(the owners)could not have made us more welcome and their house is a pure provencal delight."

"A lovely property, with very friendly owners. Mr and Mrs Lupi made us so welcome and our little dog. They had sadly lost ther two beloved dogs recently and adored him. He spent quite some time "helping" Mr Lupi plant out a new area of the garden. The owners gave us fresh citrus fruits from their garden and a pt of their home made marmalade.we visited, Antibes, Nice,Vence,Cagnes sue Mer,and a lovely day in Monaco. It was a safe place with secure garden for our. Dog. Will visit again. "
