Brittany has 1000km of 'Voies Vertes' - purpose built paths designed for non-motorised traffic, created from old railway lines, tow paths, wooded lanes, etc. 'Relais Rando' points are presently being developed along these paths, offering a range of services for cyclists and hikers.
The sheer variety of landscapes in Provence (people may be sunbathing on the Cote d'Azur beaches in winter, while less than 100km away there is snow on the mountain tops even during the summer) guarantees a range of enticing hikes.
