Holidays in France ~ luxury villas, houses, gites and character properties in Provence, Cote d'Azur, and Brittany
Walking holidays in France
With miles and miles of waymarked footpaths (grandes randonnées) through a variety of stunning landscapes and centuries of history, a villa or apartment to rent in France is a perfect base for a walking holiday to suit all levels of fitness and ability. A walking holiday exploring the fantastic coastal footpaths of Brittany will take you along vast sandy beaches and past secluded rugged rocky coves. On foot in Provence you will encounter acres of lavender fields, olive groves and vineyards (plenty of opportunities for olive oil and wine tasting), while breathing in the rosemary and thyme-scented air. On a hiking vacation on the Cote d’Azur you will be enchanted by the panoramic sea and mountain views. All that exercise will give you the perfect excuse, if one were needed, to stop and sample the gastronomic delights of France along the way. To complete the perfect holiday, we can help you choose one of our comfortable and well equipped holiday homes in France to return to at the end of an energetic day’s walking for a well deserved rest! Several of the owners of our holiday properties to rent in France are keen walkers themselves, and will be happy to share their knowledge and experience of the footpaths local to your holiday villa or apartment.

Brittany has 1000km of 'Voies Vertes' - purpose built paths designed for non-motorised traffic, created from old railway lines, tow paths, wooded lanes, etc. 'Relais Rando' points are presently being developed along these paths, offering a range of services for cyclists and hikers.
The sheer variety of landscapes in Provence (people may be sunbathing on the Cote d'Azur beaches in winter, while less than 100km away there is snow on the mountain tops even during the summer) guarantees a range of enticing hikes. Don't forget that three of France's six national parks are to be found in Provence, so there is an abundance of stunning countryside in the region to explore on foot.

If you are looking for self catering holiday accommodation with excellent hiking opportunities nearby, look no further than these holiday homes in Brittany and the Cote d'Azur / Provence.
