Brittany Concarneau, Les Oceanides 02 98 97 08 61. Reasonably priced and comfortable, good restaurant, friendly owners, one of whom speaks English. Locquirec, Hotel du Port 02 98 67 42 10. Small and pretty, overlooks the harbour, good restaurant, reasonable price. Roscoff, Hotel Armen Le Triton 02 98 61 24 44. Very peaceful. Car park. Friendly owners. Close to town centre. Reasonable price.
Champagne-Ardennes Hotel de Troyes 03 25 71 23 45.Quiet (outside town centre). Welcoming and friendly. Car park.
Burgundy Dijon, Hotel Victor Hugo 03 80 43 63 45. Quiet and clean. Car park. Nevers, Hotel La Folie 03 86 57 05 31. 3km town centre. Family run. Swimming pool and tennis court. Car park.
Provence
Aix-en-Provence, Hotel Le Manoir 04 42 26 27 20. Characterful. Quiet location in centre of old town. Has car park! Reasonable price. Some staff speak English.
St Rémy de Provence, Hotel du Soleil 04 90 92 00 63. Quiet and comfortable, 200m from town centre. Saint Michel de l'Observatoire, Hotel de l'Observatoire. 04 92 76 63 62. Attractive comfortable rooms, great restaurant. French and Scottish owners.
Cote d'Azur Nice, Hotel Canada 04 93 97 98 94. Reasonable price, good location near sea. Nice, Hotel Les Cigales 04 97 03 10 70. Stylishly refurbished, quiet. Helpful staff.
