This detached Provençal house is situated on a wooded hillside near La Bouilladisse to the south east of Aix-en-Provence. There are far-reaching views over the surrounding hills and countryside. The secluded garden, 1000m², is enclosed, and the swimming pool is fenced off making it safer for young children. There are terraces on three sides of the house with a gas barbecue, a pizza oven, garden furniture for outdoor meals, a ping-pong table and parking for two cars within the property. The house is up a small, steepish lane above the road which leads to the village. There may be some traffic noise from this road, however in the summer this is drowned by the cicadas singing in the surrounding woodland.
The interior is modern and the décor is cheerful. The house is well-equipped and has air-conditioning. Internet access is available if you bring a lap-top.

Accommodation
Access to the house is up some steps to the front terrace but from here the accommodation is all on one level. There is an open-plan living room which has French windows leading to the terrace. This room has a satellite television, a video, comfortable seating and a dining area. This room has air-conditioning. An archway leads through to the kitchen which is attractively fitted and well-equipped. There is a 4-ring hob, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine. There are four bedrooms, two with a double bed, 140cm, and two with a single bed, 90cm. A high chair is available upon request but there is no cot. There is one bathroom with a shower cubicle, a bath, two basins, and separate W.C.

Situation
La Bouilladisse is about 20km south east of Aix-en-Provence, in Marcel Pagnol country. Aix is one of the finest cultural centres of France and it is a lively town with numerous cafés and restaurants and elegant shops. The house is about two minutes drive from the village centre which has several “essential” shops, a couple of restaurants and two good boulangeries. There are tennis courts 1.1km and horseriding 5km. This is a good area for walking and there are a lot of marked paths for on the surrounding hills known as La Sainte Baume. It is about 25km to Cassis which is a delightful fishing port with a small beach and cafés overlooking the sea. The sea along this part of the coast is crystal clear (this is a great area for diving and snorkelling) and the cliffs at Cap Canaille are among the highest in Europe. There are boat trips to visit the Calanques or deep creeks. La Ciotat, Les Lecques, Bandol and Sanary are all attractive little resorts within an hour’s drive with sandy beaches, just a bit further along the coast.
Linen and terms
Bed linen and towels may be hired from the owners for a supplement of EUR 12 per person. Refundable damage deposit EUR 150, cash. Electricity is extra. Femme de ménage available upon request, EUR 10 per hour. Sorry no pets.
