These superbly restored holiday cottages are in an idyllic setting in a private hamlet in Haute Provence. There are seven cottages, sleeping 2 to 4 people, which share a beautiful swimming pool, and another cottage for 6 which has its own pool. The hospitable owners (English and Italian) live in the main farmhouse and are always happy to share advice and recommendations. This cottage, Le Pigeonnier, has its own large terrace, partially shaded with climbing roses. It has garden furniture and a barbecue for outdoor dining. The interior is very spacious and comfortably furnished; it is decorated imaginatively, using colourful Provençal materials and many original features have been retained including the superb fireplace and the exposed beams. This property has internet access. |

Accommodation
P205K, “Le Pigeonnier” (sleeps 4)
The accommodation is all on one level. The cottage has an open-plan living room and dining room with comfortable armchairs, sofas, a television and a DVD player. There is a large wood-burning stove making the property very cosy for out-of-season lets. The Provençal kitchen area is well equipped and has a 4-ring hob, oven and fridge. There is also a freezer and washing machine in the utility room. The cottage has two bedrooms: bedroom one has a wide double bed, 160 cm, and an ensuite bathroom which has a bath with a shower, and W.C. Bedroom two has twin beds and an en-suite shower room and W.C.

Situation
The property is situated about 2km from Pierrevert, a picturesque Provençal village at the eastern end of the Lubéron Hills, about 60km north east of Aix-en-Provence. The village has good local shops and a café-brasserie. There are four good restaurants between 2 and 4km of the property including a very nice one at the neighbouring golf club where non-golfers are very welcome. This has a lovely large terrace with wonderful views. There are large supermarkets in Manosque, about 6km. Aix-en-Provence is about 45 minutes drive. Aix is our favourite town in France: the old town is largely pedestrianised and has many little sqaures with cafés, an incredible number of restaurants, attractive boutiques and wonderful street markets. There is so much to explore in the area: Apt, about 40km, has a pedestrianised old town with very attractive individual shops. There are many beautiful villages nearby in the eastern Lubéron such as Dauphin and La Bastide des Jourdins. The Verdon Gorges with their spectacular scenery are about half an hour’s drive and the lake at Sainte Croix, great for water sports, is about 40km. There are many activities close by: pony trekking, walking, rafting, canoeing, climbing, cycling, and Pierrevert itself has an 18 hole golf course, Le Golf du Lubéron, which is right next to the property. This is a challenging course and costs about EUR 50 per round. It is about 80km to the coast. Nice airport is about 2 hours and Marseille is about an hour.
Linen and terms
Linen is provided except for pool towels. There is also a laundry service. Refundable damage deposit EUR 150 cash. Electricity is included except in the winter when it is read on a meter. The changeover day is usually Saturday but sometimes the owner can be flexible about this.
