This charming 19th century house is in the centre of the ancient village of Biot. It is a tall house in a narrow cobbled street and the accomodation is on four levels and has a fairly steep staircase. There are free car parks a few minutes walk away. The top floor has a balcony with garden furniture for outdoor meals and a view of the sea. This is a spacious house of character, with exposed beams and traditional stone floor tiles. The interior is of a simple standard but we think it represents excellent value for money and is an unusual opportunity to stay in the heart of a picturesque old village. |

Accommodation
The ground floor has a bedroom with two single beds and a piano. There is also a bathroom with a shower and W.C. On the first floor there is a living room and kitchen. The living room has a sofa and dining area. The kitchen is a bit small but well equipped with a mixed-ring cooker and oven, a washing machine, fridge and is equipped with a stove top kettle, toaster and electric coffee maker. On the second floor there is a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with a bath and W.C. On the third floor is another room which could be a second living room or a third bedroom. It has an open fire place, sofa, antique single bed and large French doors opening onto the balcony. There is gas central heating for the winter. There is also satellite television.

Situation
There is a good range of local shops and excellent restaurants and cafés in the village within very easy walking distance. Biot has several local craft shops and is well-known for its glassware. It is possible to visit the local glassworks “Les verreries”. There are tennis courts and golf 1km. The picturesque village of Valbonne is about 5km; there is a very pleasant marked path from Biot to Valbonne which follows the River Brague. It is a leisurely 3 hour walk, mostly in the shade. The lively old town of Antibes, about 8km, has many restaurants, cafés and an excellent market. The Musée Picasso is on the ramparts of the old town overlooking the sea. The sea and sandy beaches are 5km drive. Biot railway station is on the main line between Cannes and Nice but the station is about 4km from the village. However, there is a bus service from the town to the coastal towns. Nice airport is about 20km.
Linen and terms
Linen may be hired by arrangement, EUR 12 per person for bedlinen and bathroom towels. Electricity is included. Heating is extra when necessary, read on a meter. Refundable damage deposit EUR 180 cash. Femme de ménage at end of stay EUR 39 (compulsory).
