This very pretty stone cottage stands in the enclosed grounds of the owners' house near the picturesque village of Valbonne. A spacious patio separates the cottage from the main house. The attractive grounds are shared with the friendly English owners, their two young children and labrador and fluffy grey cat called teddy, but the cottage also has its own secluded small garden with barbecue, and a private terrace. The property has excellent shared facilities including a lovely swimming pool, trampoline, boules pitch, table tennis and climbing frame. There is parking within the property which has a secure gateway. The interior is attractively decorated and has a light and airy atmosphere, with high ceilings and several French windows opening to the garden. We think this child friendly cottage is excellent for a family holiday being only a short drive from the beach and about 20 minutes from Nice airport. |

Accommodation
Access to the cottage is up a few steps but inside all the accommodation is on one level. There is a spacious open-plan living room which has comfortable seating with television, satellite TV, DVD, video and CD player, a dining area and a large kitchen area. There is a a library of DVDs and books for adults and children. French windows lead out to a small private lawn with garden furniture for outdoor dining. The kitchen has a 4-ring hob, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine and electric kettle. There are two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a wide double bed, 160cm, and French windows opening on to a private terrace with loungers. Bedroom 2 has bunk beds. There is a bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle and W.C.

Situation
The property is situated on the edge of the village of Valbonne. The nearest restaurant is 500m, and the boulangerie and other shops and restaurants are 2km. Tennis courts are also 2km and the Victoria golf course is 500m. Valbonne is a picturesque village (see photo below) which has retained much of its sixteenth century character. At the centre of the village is the beautiful Places des Arcades, a square surrounded by cafés, restaurants, and excellent little shops. Biot, about 5km, is another pretty village well worth a visit; there is a very pleasant marked path from Valbonne to Biot along the River Brague, a leisurely 3 hour walk mostly in the shade. Mougins, a nearby hilltop village, also about 5km, is famous for its gastronomy. The coast is 12km and the nearest beaches are at Antibes. This is a lively and interesting old town with many restaurants, cafés and an excellent market. The Musée Picasso is in spectacular position on the ramparts of the old town overlooking the sea and is worth a visit. No visit to the Riviera would be complete without a trip to Cannes, which is about 14km. Cannes has exclusive boutiques, classy cafés on the Croisette (seafront), restaurants on the beach, glamorous yachts in the harbour and a wonderful daily market behind the picturesque old harbour. It is possible to explore the coast easily by car, Monaco is only about 45 minutes drive from Valbonne. There is also an excellent train service and this is a very pleasant way to visit the coastal towns; there are railway stations in Biot and in Antibes. Nice airport is about 20km.

Bed linen and towels are included. Refundable damage deposit EUR 300 cash. Electricity is included. Heating EUR 8 per day in low season. Final clean EUR 40 (compulsory). There is wi-fi access at this property. Sorry no pets.
