This is a truly magnificent property. It is a highly original Art Deco villa and not a typical holiday home. Situated on a south facing hillside, the house is light and spacious and has been designed to maximise the breathtaking views over the town, the surrounding countryside and the sea. It has beautiful large windows and three of the bedrooms open on to balconies. The interior is decorated and furnished to a high standard, with the original tiled floor and attractive staircase. The enclosed garden, 1000m², is charming. It is terraced and has Mediterranean plants, palm trees, olive trees and a fountain. There are sunny and shady spots for sitting out and a wide terrace with six loungers for sun-bathing by the pool. The pool is solar heated making water the temperature around 27-30 degrees in the summer. There is a gas barbecue and garden furniture for outdoor meals and there is parking for two cars within the property. Boules and badminton are available. Please note that there are about 30 steps up from the parking to the main level of the house. This house has Wi-fi for access to the internet. |

Accommodation
On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room, 70m², with comfortable sitting area, satellite television, DVD and CD player. There is a dining area and French windows opening onto a terrace. The kitchen is separate and is well-equipped with 4-ring hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer and electric kettle. There is a W.C. on this floor. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms: one with a wide double bed, 2m, one with a wide double bed, 160cm, and the third with a standard double bed, 140cm; the fourth room has twin beds, 90cm. There are two bathrooms each with a bath and shower, and there are two W.C.s, one is separate. On the lower ground floor there is a bedroom with a sofa bed and a shower; this room is of a simpler standard than the rest of the house. At the same level there is a laundry room with a washing machine, dryer and freezer.

Situation
The property is situated to the east of Grasse, near Maganosc, approximately 1km, a pleasant 10-15 minute walk, from the centre of Grasse. From here there are regular buses taking you to Cannes, Nice and Nice airport for just EUR 1. The coast is about 18km and the nearest sandy beaches are at Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Cannes and Antibes. There is now an excellent rail link which runs from Grasse to Cannes and along the coast. (There is free parking at Grasse station and the trains run frequently until late at night). Cannes has a wide range of restaurants and it is possible to eat well without spending a fortune. Some of the little restaurants on the beach, la Plage du Midi, near the old part of the town are particularly good. The marché Forville behind the picturesque old harbour has a terrific range of local produce. The property is well placed for exploring the ‘arrière pays’ of the Côte d’Azur with its ancient perched villages such as Biot and Gourdon. Also, Mougins and Valbonne are nearby lively villages with excellent restaurants, well worth a visit. There really is something for everyone in the immediate area: nightclub and casino about 2km, perfume museums also 2km, tennis 4km, golf 5km, miles of marked paths for walkers in the hills behind Grasse, local markets in the neighbouring villages and world class art galleries in the nearby towns such as Nice and St Paul de Vence. Nice airport is about 20km.
Linen and terms
All the linen is provided except pool towels. Refundable damage deposit EUR 700 or £500 payable to Susan Paradise 2 weeks before the holiday by credit card or cheque. Normal consumption of electricity is included. Final clean EUR 60 (compulsory).
