This charming little seaside cottage is situated on the edge of the busy little seaside town of Saint Marc sur Mer which is famous for being the setting for the Jacques Tati film, Monsieur Hulot’s Holiday. The property is in an excellent position for a beach holiday as it is a short walk across the road to a beautiful sandy cove. The house has been prettily restored by the French owner who lives next door. There is a small enclosed garden and a barbecue with furniture for outdoor meals. The interior is furnished and decorated in a mixture of antique and contemporary styles.

Accommodation
On the ground floor there is an entrance hall and a tastefully furnished living room. The kitchen is equipped with a washing machine, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, gas cooker, microwave and kettle. Next to the kitchen there is a conservatory which serves as a dining room and has a television, DVD, video and CD player. There are three bedrooms, one with a double bed, 140cm, one with twin beds and one with a single bed. There are two small shower rooms and two W.Cs. The single bedroom and one of the shower rooms and a W.C. is on the ground floor. There are glimpses of the sea from the conservatory and the upstairs rooms.

Situation
The house is just under 1km from the village centre where there are good shops and excellent restaurants. In fact, it is a very pleasant walk to the village along a coastal path. There are a few beaches within walking distance: as well as the local beach (see photo top right)which is accessible down some steps, the main beach at St Marc sur Mer is very good (see photo bottom left) and has a café and a restaurant overlooking it. The famous large crescent shaped beach at La Baule is about 7km. La Baule is lively by day and by night: it offers all watersports, golf, polo, horse-riding, casinos and an excellent range of restaurants. There is plenty to visit in this part of Brittany without driving far: the walled town of Guérande, La Grande Brière (wildlife reserve), the port of Le Croisic, the salt marshes, fishing villages such as Piriac sur Mer.
Linen and terms
Refundable damage deposit EUR 300 cash. Linen hire available, EUR 15 per person. Electricity is included. Heating is EUR 45 per week (when needed). Final clean (compulsory) EUR 40.
